Hello,The Euroclear/Clearstream common code is a six to eight digit core number; and a modulus 11 'add-double-add' check digit.
e.g. common code 121064x (where x is the check digit)step 1:
from right to left, multiply by 2,3,4,5,6,7,84 x 2 = 8
6 X 3 = 18
0 x 4 = 0
1 x 5 = 5
2 x 6 = 12
1 x 7 = 7sum = 50
step 2 :
divide sum by 11step 3 :
if the remainder = 0, the number cannot be utilized.
if the remainder is not 0, subtract the remainder from 11step 4 : the result of the subtraction constitutes the single character check digit. If the result is 10, the check digit is 0
in this case : 50 / 11 = 4 remainder 6
11-6=5, the complete common code will be 1210645.I hope this answers your question. for cusip rules, please refer to the cusip service bureau website or contact Mr. Scott Preiss or Mr. Jim Taylor. Address details could be found on www.anna-web.com / anna directories / US country code.
