Dear Ms. Holingshad,The 'XS' prefix is the country prefix used for identifying international bonds and debt instruments.
In general, when the depot of such securities upon issuance is made within an ICSD(International Central Securities Depository), the related ISIN will bear and 'XS'-ISIN. The body of those ISINs are the common code which is a the securities identification number shared between Euroclear Bank & Clearstream Banking Luxembourg.
I hope this clarifies. For further info, please feel free to mail me on my personal e-mail address (ooghe_danny@euroclear.com).Best regards,
